Is my trigger offset number realistic?

I think I understand the concept, but would like to run it by the experts before I fry something.

I'm running a MS-II box on a '99. With the car up to temp, at idle, and fans off I pop open the Trigger Wizard under "Tools". I set my timing light to 0deg advance and adjust the number in the timing wizard until the marks on the crank pulley line up with the marks on the lower timing cover.

My questions are:

Which timing marks needs to line up with what? There are two marks on the pulley, and a range of 1-10deg on the cover. The damn FSM says use a special tool. :jerkit: Not very helpful.

Assuming I am lining the correct marks up, is -1.5deg a realistic trigger offset value?

Thanks

I get a trigger offset of -6 - I just asked at msextra.com if that value would be reasonable, but got no answer up to now. Had the car running with this timing for some weeks and everything seemed fine...
