NA8c crank wheel options

Hello all,

so my aem box fried it self and im "stuck" with a mspnp2

yes iv searched but i havent found the exact info im looking for.

im looking to setup a crank wheel for better resolution i currently have a nb crank wheel wired up from my aem setup, but im looking at what options i have

Do i run a stock 94 cas with a 36-2 crank wheel? or do i need to modify the cas? or do i run a 12 tooth crank wheel and modded cas like my aem was setup for.

MS handles the low resolution OEM CAS better than AEM does. So that would be the easiest option.

If you want to run the 36-2 wheel without the NB cam sensor, you would either need to ditch sequential injection and not use the cam (not recommended), cut the CAS down to one tooth, or use the "poll level" setting (which will take some dialing in) to set the MS2 to listen on a point where the cam signal is different from one revolution to the next. Doable, but a lot more doing than the OEM CAS.

Well getting a 36-2 is do easy and I already have a cas with the cam wheel cut.

So aside from choosing 36-2 in the drop down what do I have to setup for the cam signal from the cas.

Btw my car isnt a stock na8. If it is was id keep the stock cas.

A 36-2 with one tooth on the cam would use the generic wheel decoder.

just a little update on this. it was easy

fix fm crank wheel to actually fit over pulley boss.
install cas with 1 cam signal.
hook up crank sensor.
select miata 36-2 for trigger and set offset to 4 degrees.
fired up no problem. no sync errors. just need to double over with a timing light.
