Need help tuning in Oahu Hawaii
 

Been a while since I posted here. I've had the car running since January, and I've been DD'ing it. I built the motor... Forged bits, FM2, COP's, MSDIYPNP. Car starts great, seems to have plenty of go at 12pounds of boost (AFR of 10-11 at full throttle). Low RPM throttle response sucks. Hesitates between shifts. Pretty much sure it runs rich, but the sad truth is I don't know how to get an accurate safe tune going. I've run the auto-tune on it and it's improved a bit.

I suck at tuning. Truth is I don't know where to start.

Ideas? Best way to go? Can I get anything close to optimized myself, or should I be looking for a shop to dyno tune? If so, anyone here know of one here on the island?

Do you not have a wideband on the car?

I will trade one decent tune for one expenses paid trip to hawaii :)

Harv, yes, it has an AEM wideband. When I get on the gas again after a shift it will go way rich for a second and stumble. Like 11afr. Throttle response is poor. It's really sluggish under light loads. Usually pretty driveable, but just not peppy at all. Goes like a rocket at full throttle. Great. Not usually near full throttle around here!

Maybe post some of the logs and your tune on here to get some feedback. Also post details of your setup. If you bought the thing from DIY they might be able to give you some advice as well.

Everything I've been told is that you need a steady state dyno tune to really dial in the car unless you want to do a lot of road tuning.

Yea, I'll try to do that. I'm sure a dyno tune would be best. Was kinda hoping that someone with good MS experience would be on the island with me... but that was a long shot maybe.

Well, I lived out there until I was 22 and my Dad just moved away this year. I know a guy that does Volvo stuff out there, he might know someone that does MS dyno tuning. You could try calling him and asking.
