No boost after upgrading to sequential injection on 92 NA6
Any ideas what might cause my car to be able to generate boost. I went from batch fire to sequential injection. The car is a 92 1.6 with a MSPNP Gen 2. It was generating boost before going to sequential injection. I tried removing the mbc and using just wastegate pressure to see if it was the mbc. Then I tried capping the lines connecting my blow off valve, and then finally my boost gauge. Again no boost. I checked the line going into the MSPNP and everything seems tight. I was able to use a vacuum hand pump and generate vacuum on that line as well.
The car runs far better below 100kpa than it did before, but now when ever it should start to generate boost it just sputter and spits. Once i get off the gas or but the clutch in it recovers, but nothing I do seems to generate any boost now. I as also able to pull vacuum from the waste-gate so I think it should be ok, but I'm not sure. |
Please post a data log of what happens and a copy of your MSQ. This will give me more to go on.

The log and msq are attached. I noticed i could can hear the blowoff valve release once i get off the throttle. Everything is reconnected and the car behaves the same. Although I have to admit off boost the idle is far better than it was, and the cars recovery when it comes off load is better. If it was making boost I would be really excited to get the tune sorted.

It sounds like a boost leak to me, did you possibly forget to hook something back up?
I can't see anything in the log that would keep it from making boost, but I wouldn't be trying to make boost on what you've got right now. Does your AFR really peg 22 while at WOT/100map? That is not right, seems you might have a glitch in the wideband though, because pulsewidth stays flat. Are you sure it's not blowing spark out or anything? With it spiking so lean near boost I wouldn't try to enter boost till you figure out WTF is going on. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1438636602 |
I'm not sure at all. I just replaced the bumper so I was going to check the intercooler pipes this evening when I get home. I never thought about spark blowing out. I'm now now using the fab 9 coils and I figured they would be fine. The afrs do still fluctuate but again this this is far better than it had been. I will check all all the connectors again.

I guess it's possible you have injector harness connections coming loose, that would cause pulsewidth to stay flat yet the wideband to go full lean. You did wire them in the proper order, right?

I believe they are in the proper order. I followed the instructions I could find and then triple checked it.
