No voltage from TPS mspnp2 93 Miata
 

In my TunerStudio I am getting 0 current at both WOT and Idle, I'm almost certain all my connections are correct because I did not tamper with the wiring for the TPS at all with my install so is there something else that it could be, or would I be better off just grabbing a new tps?

Did you setup the internal jumpers to accept the signal from the vTPS you added to your 93?

Oh... speaking of funky values on the TPS in TunerStudio (and lack of internal jumpers)...
Any idea what the TPS calibration would do if the vTPS pins weren't jumped?

I picked up a used DIY MSPNP2 which was working flawlessly on the '93 it came out of... for my '94. When I checked the vTPS jumper the other night, it appeared to have a thin trace of solder "jumping" the vTPS pins.

However, the TPS calibration is showing a value of 1023 for both Closed throttle ADC count and Full throttle ADC count, with the TPS plugged in or disconnected under the hood.

I'm stuck at the house without any real jumpers and my ohmmeter has a dead battery in it. Wondering if this inability to register a change in values is because the vTPS needs to be jumped, properly.

And speaking of jumping them properly... any idea if the standard 2.54mm jumper caps from the PC world fit this board?
(All the other jumpers on the board have a drop of clear silicone on them to hold them in place/keep people from removing them unless they're REALLY REALLY sure they want to...)

you need to rewire a MS built for a 93 to work on a 94 properly. the TPS is one of the things that dont match in the wiring.

nothing goes to 2M on a 90-93, so the input will float to 5v. I'd expect it to react exactly as yours is doing.

Just a quick update... in the event anyone else runs into this in the future:
I ended up pulling 2L on the factory '94 harness and running 2M to it's position.

Worked like a charm. The MM9093 MS2E now reads the factory TPS on my '94 Miata, correctly.

Big thanks to Twibs415 for interpreting what appeared to be a mid-year wiring change, since my Mitchell wiring Diagram showed 2L to be a "rear defroster circuit" which ran to a non-installed relay in the trunk. It's possibly/highly likely it was carrying either +5 or +12 to position 2L.

2M came directly from the TPS and was variable. .5 to 4.7 or so, depending on the throttle position.
