Been a while since I dissected composite logs, but you say that is a 36-2 with a NA CAS?

DBZMiata 09-26-2019 07:41 AM

it was, but I switched it back to 4g63 and unplugged my crank sensor last night. I wasnt aware the na cas took a cam and crank reading.

Ted75zcar 09-26-2019 07:47 AM

Does a timing light on #1 flash during cranking, and can you tell if it is around 10 degrees on the crank?

Do each of the other cyls flash as well

Is the fuel rail hooked up right? People swap the source snd return regularly.

DBZMiata 09-26-2019 11:30 AM

I know I'm at 10 on my timing, I'm pretty sure my fuel lines are backwards, so I'm gonna try swapping them after I get home later.

So, I may have been pre-mature in post 10 when I struck through the FPR comment.

DBZMiata, if the reversed hoses are the issue, you should :likecat: every one of Ted's posts in this thread.

DBZMiata 09-26-2019 12:15 PM

what does the cat mean? lol

DNMakinson 09-26-2019 12:54 PM

There are PosCats and NegCats. They help ID "good" people and "sorry" people. All are totally voluntary.

On some phone implementations, they don't show. The picture below shows what is on my computer. On the left, you now have 1 Cat. I gave it to you, so that is why, on the lower right, the "1" is blue. They all sum up forevermore.

You give them to people by clicking on the Pos or Neg in the lower right corner of any given post. Each post can be given 1, 0, or -1 by any other member. No more, no fewer.

ok so this is after making sure the fuel lines were correct thank you again DNMakinson

DNMakinson 09-27-2019 08:04 PM

So, did it help? Did the car start? Are the plugs wet? I can't help you with your CAS etc, as I only have experience with '99 and MS3.

DBZMiata 09-27-2019 08:20 PM

no still not running I tested my fuel injectors and coil/spark plugs and it's still not wanting to start plugs are wet

Ted75zcar 09-27-2019 09:17 PM

Does an inductive pickup timing light flash on all cylinders when cranking?

post a screen shot of your ignition options and your engine and sequential settings windows

Induction light shows all 4 lighting up

Ted75zcar 09-28-2019 01:02 AM

Screen shot of cranking pulse and idle cranking duty

Did you test the IAC valve?

NOTE: the snip tool in windows works well for grabbing screen shots.

Ted75zcar 09-28-2019 01:08 AM

Oh, and SS of cranking/startup settings

ok tested iac not sure what to look for on it

Ted75zcar 09-28-2019 11:38 AM

Does the IAC at least make noise when you run it?

Does the car fire at all during cranking?

DBZMiata 09-28-2019 12:11 PM

yes iac makes noise and I've taken the plugs out and they fire but the car doesnt make a snap crackle pop it just cranks

Ted75zcar 09-28-2019 12:25 PM

No I mean does it sound like you are getting any combustion at all? Any pops or sputters?

I think we need a TS log during cranking (not composite). Log all of the fields you can in the logging profile menu. Start the log then crank. If the MS resets due to the voltage drop during cranking, hook the car up to another running car with jumper cables while cranking.

Ted75zcar 09-28-2019 12:31 PM

And set flood clear to 70, confirm that the TPS measures from 0-100 in TS. Try flooring it during cranking after the first couple of revolutions and see if you notice a change.
