not a miata, but hoping you can help

I know it's not a miata, but from all the research and reading ive done on megasquirt, it sure seems to me like this forum is at the top for megasquirt help, and it takes days if not more to get a response on msextra forum ect. So I thought I would ask you fine gentlemen here for help.

I am nearing completion of a build on a 04 mustang 4.6 4v twin turbo, running ms3x. I setup a base tune in tunerstudio and figured I go load it on the ms3x. I did that and as soon as I turn the key on (engine still off) there was a LOUD buzzing coming from the engine area. After a little looking around, I found it to be the 2 wire PWM idle air control valve. Tunerstudio recommends 50-100hz on the ford/bosch pwm idle valves and I tired between 50-100 and all that changed was the pitch or intensity of the buzzing. Do I need to go higher with the hz to get this thing to stop buzzing? It's so loud I would likely here it over the engine at idle with open headers lol.

Have you run the vehicle yet? Just because it is loud KOEO doesn't mean that it will be that loud with the engine running. It is kind of like saying "My fuel pump is loud when I key the car on but only a slight whine when running"

FWIW I have had to add foam with adhesive backing to purge solenoids on Buick/GMC/Chevy vehicles where customers complained of clicking under the hood. It dampens the noise a little and that may be an option for you.

I am still roughly a couple weeks away from engine start up. This thing is intolerably loud, and im sure with the engine running i can drown it out some, but the actual solenoid inside the valve is what's noisy due to the hz i have it set to operate at. The factory pcm can run this valve dead silent almost, so I would hope ms3x is able to get close. I'm hoping someone has ran into this before and knows of a good hz level I can set it to that will still give me fast response but also tone down the buzzing.

Use test mode to try different frequencies?

Make sure you aren't getting false triggers in the composite logger KOEO.

Thanks, I went into test mode and tried numerous different freq and found one (roughly 152 iirc) that works great. valve is silent and functions properly. Thanks for the help
