Anyone in Colorado have a working COP harness?
I am running a MS-II standalone in my '92 with toyota cops. I get no tach signal. With the stock coils I do but not with cops.
I know I should have put the 1k resistor in my harness but didn't know about it at the time. So I tried jumpering it in the diagnostic box from IG- to +B, still no signal. The car runs fine and rpm displays on the pc when connected just nothing to the dash. I am assuming that I missed something in the cop harness, but would like to verify that before I take mine apart for diagnostics.
So... if someone has one I could borrow for a little bit it would be appreciated.

Should be able to ghetto rig something. This is your auto-x car, no? Could it be that you deleted some of the wiring for the diagnostic box? Find where those two wires go to and jump them there, maybe behind the gauges? That or just shove a resistor in your harness somehow, can't be that hard, just has to be good enough to test it out.

Bill and the guys at Flyin' Miata are great folks. They could probably help me track it down if I asked them.
But ... They are five and a half hours from me.
I was just too lazy to tear my harness apart and re double check everything. I really don't do electrical stuff if I can help it. I usually manage to let the magic white smoke out and then nothing works.
It is not really a big deal on the autocross car whether the tach works or not, but in between other projects I thought I would give it a try. I was kind of disappointed when the the easy fix of jumpering the resistor in the diagnostic box didn't work.
Of course, now that I started it will bother me until I fix it.
