Ok no rpm signal on tach or MS when hooked up
As the title states, I have soldered up my boomslang harness, and when I plug in the stock ecu, the car runs fine and the dashboard reads rpm. However, when I plug in the Megasquirt, no tach signal on the dash or the Megasquirt. I had problems with my tach signal last time I tried using the megasquirt also. Doesn't the coilpack directly drive the stock tach?
... duh ok so i just realized that I need spark output for the coil to drive the tach on the dashboard. Ok so here is my checklist of things to look for 1) re-check my wiring 2) re-check my board mods 3) re-check software settings What else? What I have done so far is listed on my other megasquirt thread in the first post https://www.miataturbo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5032 |
sounds like you already know what to do. but i thought you got it running before?
|
nah i had the same issues before, just this time i can switch back to the stock ecu easily
|
yeah, but you got the CAS/tach signal working well enought to run right?
|
ya, but then it would randomly cut out or read rediculously high rpm and lock the injectors. One day it just stopped working altogether and i dunno why, but i thought it was my other harness which was kinda messed up.

Meh, im gonna buy a diy board and solder it all up myself. I think my board is fuxord. Upon closer inspection, some of the leads (where the resistors, diodes ... are soldered to) are not there and I believe this is why I have had so many troubles.
Note to self (everyone), buy your board from diyautotune and not from an ebay seller. I probably saved 20 bucks, :td: |
