Are people afraid of Accel settings? (please post yours)
I have been searching all around trying to located something to base mine off of for my car, 1.8l with a set of RX-7 460's
Previous car used many of the same parts, ran perfect, only differences should have been the .2l bump in displacement and base greddy turbo kit vs new begi-s with the GT2560 upgrade. Both are using same intercooler setup This is what i have mine set to: MAP based 20kPa...... 1.9 80........... 2.4 130......... 3.1 190......... 7.9 Mapdot threshold - 20 accel time - 0.2 trigger is set to MAPdot Timer is set to seconds RPM based is turned OFF Im using tuner studio and this is the best i can get on my car. Using its graph to try to set it up. 180 was the highest rate of change i could get going from zero to max throttle at different RPM starting points, so went sightly above that to 190 for max. AFRs will dip momentaly into the 12's on tip in. My last miata was a 93, and it was very smooth on tip in and liftoff, this car seems to jerk alot on liftoff at all speeds, and tip-in at parking lot speeds. (sorry no pics, using work computer) |
I have the stock DIYPNP basemap configuration for accel enrichment. I seems to work well. It is 100% TPS based though.
|
I'm going to start playing around with the accel settings.
|
I'm using MAP(25%)/TPS(75%) based. With MS-III they are in % not ms, so I couldn't even tell you how the numbers convert :)
doesn't take very long to get them good, just get on the higway in 5th gear and start playing with your |
Every single turbo car I've tuned works just fine with TPSdot.

Work in progress.
Attachment 16851 v/s PW adder 0.2 0.3 5.5 1.0 11 1.6 16.7 2.1 I know I should be using Mapdot based enrichments but Tpsdot seems more responsive. I'm still undecided. |
Why do you think you should be using MAPdot?
I am using MAP based AE but that's only because I don't have a TPS on my 1.6. It is functional but not as good as it could be, due to the reduced sensitivity needed to work around MAP jitter in the 3.5k RPM range. I plan on using TPS when I can. |

I can't get it to tip in early enough With MAPdot. It seemed easier to get the TPSdot set too. It's pretty close. 13.5 AFR under accel for the most part and no bucking even with the light weight flywheel. |

Stupid question:
do the values on the X-axis represent total change in KPA/TPS or the value where enrichment initiates? |
X is the rate of change. Enrichment will not take place below your threshold.
|
anyone wanna post a screen shot of their accel enrichments?

Here be mine :2cents:

@Oscar - What size injectors are those?
I currentlytrying the settings in post #6 for TPS, but still have a bit of a stumble at lower rpm, mainly parking lot speeds, cannot get it to smoothly change rpm with out a bit of jerking and/or looking a fool as the car bucks I think my bucking when decelerationg might have been more my overrun settings though, it was turing the injectors off at a higher MAP, i originaly had it require less then 24 kPa (car idles around 26 kPa) so i was thinking if it less then that it would be ok. The car gets closer to 18 when on the road so I lowered it to 20, so if there is any bit of pressure change, it will get the injectors squirting agin, so there is not as much of a jerk when i get back on the throttle. My raw ADC is set to 25, and 24 is zero throttle, so if it regesters any gas, it will smooth that transistion from overrun to acceleration |
stock 265 cc tantops.
|
kk cool, i will try that on the way home tonight, just scaled for my 460's... see what effect it has
