Default RX7 Injectors

I want to get 550cc injectors for my 91 miata with the 1.6 motor. What year of RX7's injectors will bolt/plug in the stock fuel rail and connectors.

Thanks Rick

Hrm I have some 550's that are a purple'y'/red colour. I know that isn't a great description.... but have I got the wrong ones?

I know they're high impedance off a turbo'd RX7

easy way to tell is from the connector style...best way is from the provided part #s.

this will make it easier. both will work, one is plug and play. Although, wiring in clips isn't the hardest thing in the world.

i don't understand "clips" is the connection where the injectors plug in or is it something to hold them in place? does ^^^^ above picture have clips in it?

I've seen big color variances from set to set. Some look purple, some look red, some are in between. All share the same part #.
-2020 is the turbo 550s

-2010 is the non turbo 460s
Either will work for most applications

the clips are what the injectors plug into...the one I posted on the right is the Mazda connector, on the left...the square connector...you can buy the connectors for them for about $5 each and cut the existing ones and solder those in.

the clip is what plugs onto the oblique part at the top. The male end is part of the injector. They are shaped differently between the 2 injectors in that pic. The pluug and play ones are oval (right) the ones that you would need to put new clips on the injector harness are square (left). Both "work" you just need to replace the clips for the square ones. You can get injector clip kits on ebay fror like $15 shipped which is way better than you'll find on any e-tailer.

you beat me too it!! To add to what scatt said, if you do ever solder anything under the hood coat it in dielectric grease/goop and heatshrink it. Otherwise the solder will promote oxidizing of the wire.

Actually, you can/should buy them junx from FM. They have a pnp adaptor that clips in to the mazda injector harness and has the RCEng/Ford style connector on the other end. No cutting, no soldering, and you can return everything to stock in a few minutes. IIRC $5 each.

Not on the website last I looked, but they do offer them. I think they include them with the FMII Link & Hydra kits

nice, i didnt know about that, thats damn slick. I would definately have bought them if I knew about it. These places seriously need to update their sites with more of what they sell. I never even knew such a thing existed.
