Prepping to swap in 460's
I'm reading up to make sure I get the steps right on what to do to swap from my current fuel setup (stock injectors & Vortech FPR) to the RX7 460's that I bought and had cleaned/flowed. I'd like to ask you guys if I understand the MSPNP instructions on this correctly.
Seems that I need to do the following: In REQ_FUEL set injectors flow to 460cc and change air-fuel ratio to 12.7:1 Do the math and scale all the cells in the Cranking PW and the Accel Enrich PW Disconnect Vortech FPR Re-tune to get A/F's golden with the new injectors Am I missing anything? On a side note, I'm removing the AFM too and so then I'll have to load the 90-93 without AFM map in MS once I do so... am I correct that this will put me back to a completely base tune and back to default settings in MS? Is there any way to carry over my VE tables and all other settings etc. to the no-AFM version? I'm hoping I don't have to completely redo things like set the MS back up to communicate with my wideband (AEM) and read in A/F instead of volts, etc... Thanks guys -Ryan |
changing the configuratior takes a whole min tops right?
Changing req fuel takes another min tops, so far your looking at two min. If you want to, you could import your old fuel/timing tables as well to save some time. But the changes from the vortech FPR to not will need to be re tuned anyways. I would start with the base msq, make your changes needed, VTPS? WB02? 4 bar map sensor? After the changes are made, re tune and be good. |

Make sure to put some oil on your o-rings on the injectors when you install. Breaking one because it isnt oiled is a bitch.

The absolute pulsewidths, to my knowledge, do not take into account the lag times. So you'll have to factor that it after you scale 'em. You're gonna have to re-tweak 'em anyway, so it's not important to be dead-on the first time.
so you take account. 230/460 = .5 say 60*F = 4.5ms remove 1ms, then multiply by the difference, then add the 1ms back. (it takes .5ms to open and another .5 to close) so a 4.5ms would now be 2.75ms |

Too complicated. Just divide the size of your old injectors by the size of your new injectors (230/460=0.5) and then multiply your current Req_Fuel number by 0.5.

REQ_FUEL = 13.7
13.7 * .5 = 6.7 the end. OR input 1600cc 460cc 12.7AFR then get 6.7.... |
