Q9 & Q12 mod question
Quick question,
MS1 v 3 I’ve wired the middle pins of Q9 & Q12 straight to the battery in an attempt to minimise low-z injector noise. Does this voltage source need to be switched? I’ve been suffering from my battery apparently loosing charge and have gone through 2 batteries in the last 3 months. Also, in the end I gave up on getting low-z injectors to work properly (tach spikes) and have gone back to hi-z injectors.. now I’m running hi-z, do I even need q9 & q12 to be connected? |
You probably want to pull from a switched 12v source and you're leaking voltage when it's off. The most important thing with low-ohm injectors is good grounds not power.
Most who want to run peak and hold use this board: http://www.jbperf.com/p&h_board/ |
now that i'm running hi-z, can i just disconnect it all together? or do i need to solder it back to the motherboard?
fwiw i tried running 4 seperate thick grounds straight to the head, put a cap on the boot header etc.. probably had bad injectors |
anything past D7 and D5, yes.

ok... disconnected the wire and car wouldn't start.
is this actually likely to cause a slow discharge of the battery? |
