Question for Miatasquirt owners
So I recently got my miatasquirt from KingofL337, my car is a '95 and this was the first miatasquirt he built for an OBDI 1.8L.
I'm starting to install it and have a few questions. The miatasquirt Adam sent me has one wire available for an input (I assume that is what it's for). I don't know which input this is supposed to be and Adam didn't send me any instruction. My question is where should I input the wideband 02 and the AIT signals? I know these are questions for Adam but I only have work contact info for him, I was hoping someone else who had gotten a miatasquirt from Adam would have some ideas for me. Thanks guys |
Here is a picture for reference. The harness coming from the stock ecu into the megasquirt has one wire coming out of it (yellow), I assume this is for either the wideband input or AIT input.

Well it is hard to say what that wire is for. Could be o2 if you are running a wideband. Could be the IAT sensor otherwise. I would actually bet it being the IAT sensor.
|
I assumed it was for the AIT sensor because Adam and I never talked about running a wideband o2 sensor.
If the yellow wire is for the AIT how then should I hook up the wideband? |
Open up the DB37 connector and see which pin it goes to. I'll put my money on it being the IAT sensor. You can hook your wideband up to the regular o2 pin or make a new input.
|
I agree, it must be AIT sensor input and as mentioned above, you would just splice your wideband input directly to your ecu harness before it even gets to the stock ecu. If you have an LC1, you can program the input to put out a narrowband signal for the stock ecu, or a wideband output for when you are ready to run megasquirt daily.

I have a plx m300 which also has two outputs, one nb and one wb. I'll call Adam today and see what he says. Thanks guys |
There are 2 fuel switches because on the 1.8 engine there are 4 lines for fuel. So you have to have 2 switches. That messed me up for the longest time but I finally got that fixed myself.

I have one 4 pole switch for mine. Works fine.

Adam wired mine up to use the stock CLT (which is a bit off) and left a wire out for the IAT. |
