MS3X Cam Trim Pots
Anyone using MS3X and going sequential?
I have built a MS3 and a JimStim this week. If the ignition is set up as wasted COP, things seem to work ok on the bench. However, if the ignition is set to sequential COP, I get error 65038.
"COP set, but crank speed trigger wheel. Try wasted spark, install a cam trigger or mount your wheel on the cam."
Does this mean that the TS ignition setting is incorrect, or the CAM circuit is not triggering properly, or ???
For the bench, the CAM signal is a JimStim 1.5 with a the 2nd tach output jumpered to MS3X pin 32. JP7 is jumpered for a hall type input.
I can't seem to set the CAM circuit trim pots correctly. They don't seem to have a click or detent. Kind of clueless on how to proceed from here. There is a zero-crossing test point on the ms3x, but haven't found any expected voltage values for the test point. Does anyone have any suggestions?

toothed wheel? you need to be using 4g63 mode, and really, I'd use the ms2 input setup thats described on the wiki instead of the vr circuits on the board and ms3x... even tho they claim thats the way to go. (this is all assuming you're using the 94 cas, search my threads, I have a 94 running ms3/ms3x)

Thanks Matt, I'll try that. I had found conflicting comments on dual vs single wheel.
For my CAM input, I sawed off an arm on a spare CAS so I get one pulse per engine cycle. For the TEC3, it needed a pullup to work. The pullup is still in the harness. Eventually I'll remove it since the MS3X has one. (One less thing to go wrong in the harness...)
