Is it advisable for a megasqirt novice to try to change up the rev limiter trackside? Im running out of gear way before braking zone. Id like to move it from 7k to 7400.
or, is it advissble to "drive" awhile on the soft rev cut?

Yes. Factory is 6500.

Yeah I heard you're running without the chicane, probably should of upped that. I'd try 7200 for now. I wouldn't necessarily stay on the rev limiter.

but the tune is safe up there. But it's not the greatest for your tired engine.

Holy shit, PIR without the chicane sounds ridiculous.

If it is a fuel cut limiter it is fine to sit on it. Spark cut could hurt it.

I wouldn't sit on it for a long time. But hitting it shouldnt hurt too bad.

Another novice here working through MS setup. Is best for engine longevity to run spark then fuel cut? Just fuel? Will be hitting limiter during autocross.

It's drying up for today's race. Im on the rev limiter for apprx the length of a football field (from the chicane to just after the hump). Im wondering if it'd be more damaging to feather it (and go closed loop\ lean?) Or,to just ride the soft cut?

I worry that if I go into TS and merely bump the limiter to 7400, that I might not have a fuel/spark map there... as it was only tuned to 7k. Is this how ir works?

It interpolates. So the last known value is still used. Since volumetric efficiency is lowering at higher rpm's, you only go a little rich.
