Rev Limiter Lower Than Set Point
Running an ms3x on my na6 jrsc miata. Rev limiter set at 7200, which can be seen below. Weird thing is that I hit the rev limiter at about 6400 rpm, indicated by both the tach and megasquirt. Launch control is turned off. Any ideas why it's so low?

Ya, but clt limiter is turned off.

What’re your overboost settings? |
Overboost set at 195 kpa, I only ever get to about 175 kpa. Also, I get more boost in the midrange than up top.
|
I'll never understand why people post a question like this without including the tune and a log of the issue.
It's almost like they want us to make wild guesses. |
What’s your hysterisis on the overboost? |
I like guessing, I’m always right cause there’s no tune to prove me wrong. |
The problem is overboost and it's also not overboost.
It will continue to be both until we open the log and check on the cat. |

Sorry guys. Log attached as well as tune if anyone is interested. Look at 77 and 125 seconds in the log, that's when I hit the limiter.

And now we can conclude schrodinger's cat is dead.
You're losing sync. Tune the potentiometers. |
Which potentiometers are you referencing? Sorry, I'm not super familiar with the megasquirt hardware.
|
It's covered under the expander board section here. https://trubokitty.com/#/ms3xassembly
Who built it? |
I'll read through that. It was built by Ohio ECU Solutions.
|
I finally have time to dig into this tonight. Out of curiosity, how do you know I am losing sync? Knowing what to look for would be helpful in getting it tuned in. Thanks.
|
Keep an eye on your "Lost Sync Counter" in Tuner Studio.
It tells you when you lose sync. You can look at your high speed data loggers for your Cam and Crank signals too. |
Thanks for the help guys. Got the potentiometers tuned and everything is ok now!
