Try loading firmware using the boot jumper, and see what happens.

Hey there guys,

reviving this thread. I took advantage of my son's visit to get the MS2 to connect to my laptop.

We do indeed have a connection (thank you Matt Cramer for your advice).

We loaded the example MS2 project from TunerStudio and we get a message that says that "the firmware is mismatched"

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...7be16c610b.png

should I update the firmware on the MS2 to the latest or should I find the project file related to this firmware?

Thanks,

Rafa

I think the MS2 that @Reverant builds take his firmware. Maybe you should contact him or maybe he'll see his tag and respond. I know the MS2E I have would need to go back to him before being upgraded to the latest firmware.

Edit: I see you bought it used. Did the prior owner send you the *.ini file to load into Tunerstudio?

So,

We were able to start the car but we can't make it go over 3,000 rpm no matter what we try.

I'm enclosing a log and my msq. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Rafa,

Your logs show there is a likely a grounding problem with the ECU. Your sensors are jumping all over the place in the log. TPS is bouncing around up and down when it should not. Your tune is set to add fuel when you hit the gas pedal, so the false TPS noise makes it keep adding fuel.

You can plot TPS to see this. If you plot CLT, you will see the noise on CLT too. Probably others as well. I sent you a PM.

Pat

Did you go through all the setup including calibrating the TPS before you tried to start the car?

Rev usually sends a nice checklist with the unit.

We did.

I think Pat may be right about the grounding issue.

I had an issue when I brought the car from the shop. As soon as I got my car in the garage, I couldn't start it again and I left it there for 6 months.

I brought an electrician and he found a broken wire and that's how we were able to start it but something is still wrong because when I brought it from the shop it was working perfectly.

I remember being amazed because I was running it without an O2 sensor

thanks for the help guys

Rafa

As @patsmx5 pointed out, check your ground points.
