RPM based enrichment

I´m trying to sort out the MS-settings for my 95 1.8 NA and would be grateful if someone could help me.
Is the exact displacement 1839cc?
My plan is to supercharge the engine as soon as I get MS to work N-A. I´ve been looking at "MiataMaths" settings though he has a 1.8 NA like me. He has used RPM based enrichments´. Can I use RPM based enrichment even after I supercharged my car(feels wrong) or how do you turboguys do it?

Is there anyone who has the setting for a boosted 1.8 NA? Would like to know what to change from " MiataMaths" settings ones I go boosted.

/Fredrik

I have read some more... From what i understand the only enrichment I need to worry about when I boost my car is the MAP based enrichment( accept cold and crank-enrichments)?
Am I right?

by rpm enrichment do you mean acceleration enrichment? where it adds a bit more fuel on tip-in? that is generally important for drivability n/a if you run alpha-N... I don't believe it's necessary with MAP. I'm still new to engine tuning so someone please feel free to correct me if this is wrong.

Yepp! I mean Accel-enrichment.:)

If I remember my homework, when they came out with RPM-based accel enrichment, it was for oddball things like Jetskis and whatnot. The help file (at the time anyway) said "generally do not use". On my boosted app, I found accel enrichment to be kind of a crapshoot anyway - other than a little bit to keep from going lean on tip-in, it didn't seem to matter at all.

You definitely don't want to use RPM-based enrichment, and ESPECIALLY not with a blower. RPM based enrichment would be useful as a secondary function on a turbo motor (for example if the turbo doesn't fully spool 'til 4k, tone the enrichment down below 4k), but your primary trigger needs to be TPS-based no matter if you're turbo or blower.

Hrm, without a fair bit of added fuel on accel enrichment, by car becomes a dog to drive?

On an 8v 2.3L 8.7:1 15psi (Volvo RWD) I ran it without AE much of the time; while doing datalogs for offline tuning (Vexme), all the gammas need to be turned off. I ran:
Vsec MSec
1 1
2 2
3 4
4 8

The only issue I found was when I goosed the gas pedal in neutral before letting the clutch out, it tended to stumble. I think the car's indifference to AE was the fast spooling turbo: boost came up so fast, the map got rich so fast, it almost had MAP-based enrichment, ya know?

disclaimer - I haven't boosted a miata (yet), or even driven one in fifteen years:gay: so your mileage may vary.

the 1.6 guys don't have a TPS sensor and RPM Enrichment works pretty well.
If you have a TPS sensor and use TPSdot.

OK! :) If I understand it right the only thing I need to do for fuel accept the basic engine-settings is VE table, TPSdot, crank and cold enrichments?

pretty much

Thanks!:)

I tried using pretty much everything for accell enrichmenet and got the best result with the rpm base one.

What was good for my setup with my stock o2 tuned VE table might differ a lot from another user thus having a different requirement for AE.

LIke other have said... AE is very hard to tune to "like stock" feeling. I didn't count on many setting I tried and nothing is as instatenous as stock when you blip the throttle. I'm back on the stock ECU for now.

Try it for yourself and see.

I've found that, but surely it's down to tuning?

tho I can only tell the difference when stationary and blipping the throttle!
