Running out of time, can someone look at my log?

GRM Challenge is coming up in less then a week. I've finally been able to drive the car around with a rough tune. I've made a few logs this week and I'm at the point where MLV is making very few and small changes to my fuel map. My main concerns are tip in and timing. When I go to accelerate it feels smooth but my logs look lean in spots. Also with 8 psi my timing is about 18-20 degrees. I have a feeling that's on the high side but its been cold here and I'm running 93 octane. I don't believe I've been getting any knock. Its hard to tell.

Another small problem is that the car starts right up when cold but idles rough till it warms up. Not sure if there is anything I can do. Currently I'm not using the IAC and its blocked off. I have tried to mess with after start enrichments but with no luck.

Please let me know if there are any major changes I should make.

Timing... Every car is different, FWIW. You're running a tiny bit less than I do, however I'm tuned for 91 octane plus W/I, so it's really impossible to compare. Every car seems to be a tad different, and if yours is happy, then great.

Tip in: part of me wants to say "if it feels good, then fine." If you really want to be a perfectionist, then follow along.

Here's one instance of you hitting the throttle at what I'll call "moderate" intensity. Blue is TPS, green is AFR, and red is the amount of TPSAccel being performed. You're not really hitting the throttle very hard at all, and you get that big lean spike. Notice that TPSAccel did virtually nothing.

Ok, here's one of you hitting the throttle harder:

See the difference? You were fast enough to activate a big slug of TPSAccel, which prevented the lean spike.

So, if you want to try to tune this out, flip over to your Accel Wizard screen. I've made some very arbitrary changes here, to point you in the right direction. These numbers are by no means absolute:

Starting at the top, I'm putting in more fuel at the lower rates of change. I've lengthened the duration of the Accel slightly, and lowered the threshold. Lastly, I also got rid of the Decel value.

One other thing. This may just be an artifact of your MT setup vs. my MT setup, but this is what your AFR Target table looks like to me. Please double-check that this isn't what yours actually is:

Very good information here. Aren't those AFR targets way lean at the top?

Can the lean tip in be eliminated? or is that not possible?

Yes, you can eliminate it with good tuning of the acceleration enrichments.

I have no lean tip in issues.

Wow, that's a lot of great info! Tonight I'll try your changes and make some new logs. Tip in has been a real pain for me. When I started out they were way to lean then I made some changes and the car would bog. I'm at the point where it's ok but with help I hope to get this close to perfect.

As for the AFR's I'm not sure what up with those numbers. Last time I changed them they were 11.5 in boost, 12.5 at 100kpa, 14.7 when cruising, and 13.3 at idle. I'm not sure what’s wrong but every time I open those settings they are different (yes, I burn them). Not sure why. 16.7 in boost would just be crazy. I’m also using Tunerstudios instead of Megatune so maybe that has something to do with it.

Lets toss more boost at it ;)

Now that we got the EBC working again at 2am its cranked up to 15 psi. It looks like that worked out nicely today ;)
