Stupid AFM implementation Question

1 Attachment(s)
To preface this, I'm not on some Techsalvager shit -- I'm working on modifying a MS1 V3.0 within the realms of Solo II STS rules and therefore cannot use the MAP.

What I have done so far from what I've found via searching.

1. Connected JS5 (I believe this works to have the AFM 5v signal routed to?) to an empty pin on the DB37 & added the corresponding wire/etc to the harness to meet up with the existing AFM wiring on the car side
2. Added the 5v line on the harness (loose on the DB side for now).

Attachment 229346

What I need to sort out is where should I pull 5v from to send to the DB37? I see some wires already in place by the 5v regulator and I know that pin 9 on the DB9 has 5v. Curious what the best option is for powering the AFM.

Thanks!

edit: I also believe this unit was set up with VREF on pin 26. Can I just move that to a different on the car harness side and call it a day? We have no use for the manual TPS and can't add the automatic one.

The 5 volt VREF supply is always on pin 26 and is for powering external sensors like this one.

Great -- thank you.

Hopefully last question. Do I need any sort of filter in-line between the AFM and the MS? I keep seeing references to noise filters and I also saw this small thing in the MSExtra manual as well. Thanks!

Yes, I'd use a low pass filter like the one shown.
