Taking the turbo plunge?

Ok guys, after I MSed my car last year, I resisted the temptation to turbo. I keep telling myself to keep this car off the track, as I have some mechanical issue after every track weekend causing me to have to work on it. But I'm really lacking power on two uphill corners that are very crucial corners on this track, thus, I am thinking about taking the plunge. I'm thinking about a....COUGHebaykit. Don't judge me! Here's my question for the MS crowd. For low boost, like 50 extra hp worth, can I leave my stock fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump, since MS can handle boost and give me more pulse width? I have 326 CC injectors.

Thanks,
Kyle

if you are only shooting for 150 whp I think the 326s and MS should do the job.

just stop adding boost when you run out of duty cycle. ~85%

you'll be looking for bigger injectors soon. ;)

Excellent, that's what I wanted to hear. If duty cycle is the first limit I hit, I think I will be happy with that. I really want to stay away from a new clutch and exhaust system for as long as possible. If I bring much more speed onto the straightaways, my poor little stock brakes are going to be the next required upgrade!

I'm not gonna knock you for going the ebay kit route, but you could do it way easier and probably cheaper. I'm sure you already know that though. If I was gonna track my car i would get a good cast mani that I wouldn't have to worry about cracking. In your case though with a 1.6 you could just throw some bracing on the ebay kit mani and go with it.

I'd look for a HKS mani first though. actually i did.

Point taken. I'll weigh my options. I have a TIG welder, I will also reinforce the manifold.
