Default Msd dis-2

I would like to hear of anyone's experience using a CDI ignition with Megasquirt. I have searched very hard on not only Miata forums, but many other makes as well. There are very few references to using the two together. Most responses I have found are either, you don't need it or it works great.

I have been doing some testing with a DIS-2 I have on hand, and it really does improve spark output, but after a minute or so of run time, the box seems to shut down, I think the input from MS must not be compatible with the MSD somehow, and is overloading it.

I have tried running with and without the PN 8912 ignition adapter, it does run better with the adapter, but I run into the same problem with the DIS-2 shutting down after about a minute.

I have read about adding resistors to modify signal from the MS, but have not actually seen how/where to add them, and do not quite grasp what the purpose of the resistor is. I am wondering if there are settings that may have to be changed to make the MSD happy with the MS.

If I have time today, I plan to look at the signals to and from the MSD with my labscope, perhaps I will see something to shed some light on what is happening.

I really would like to make this work, as past personal experience has proven the worth of MSD ignitions many times, and I am sure if working properly it will prove itself again with my Miata.
