Is there a megastim rpm work around?

So i finally got my board all together, got software installed, and things were running smooth. But i can't get rpm to work on my megastim 2.21. I have read that having miata mods done to the board won't allow it to work

I was wondering if there is a work around on this or a change in the megastim that can be perform to get this to work. Can't seem to find anything on the internet

MS2 V3
Megastim 2.21

Megastim? that's a name I have not heard in a long time.

The short answer is get a jimstim. Flip some switches and away you go.

Warning: Very broad answer ahead:

When I built my MS3-X, I tested it using the original stim. The one with just one db37 connector. RPM worked. I knew nothing about megasquirt at the time, and don't remember how it was set up. But, it can be done.

I messed with the settings and couldn't get it to work. Super lame now i have to buy the jimstim. Anyone want to buy a megastim lol

Or, ignore that you can't test RPMs on the stim and just move on with life?

For testing purposes, change to basic trigger mode and single coil. That's all the 2.21 Stim can support.
