timing question
do i still need to bridge gnd and ten in the diagnosic box to adjust the cas?? because its a mile out just with ms compensating

the ms has the same function for the same purpose, it's somewhere in megatune. change -10 to 10.

No need to bridge the jumpers with the MS-- that just sets the stock ECU to a base timing of X degrees (probably 10). As mentioned above in Megatune go to the Spark Settings screen and set 'Fixed Angle' to 10 degrees. Burn to ECU. Then use a light and adjust the 'Trigger Angle' (top of same screen) to make the light read a perfect 10 degrees on the crank pulley. (Burn after each adjustment). When it matched your base timing is set. Set the 'Fixed angle' back to -10 to make it use the table instead of the fixed 10 degrees and you're good to go...

Yep-- it's arguably easier to do in software though.
I guess it depends on if you have a 12mm wrench or a laptop closer eh? ;) |

NP-- BTW my laptop sits in the seat too-- I either run back and forth, or have someone give me a hand...

all done, set to 14 degrees. cam timing was 3 teeth out which was not allowing me enough on the cas to adjust it, but its all sorted now.
|
So you set 'fixed angle' to 14 first right? Then adjusted the CAS to read 14 and then set 'fixed angle' back to -10? If so you're good to go...
10, 14, 20, makes no difference as long as it matches with the light and you set it back to -10 when you're done. |
yeah exactly as you just said.
