Default Tried to start for first time = no go

Ok, so i finished installing my megasquirt today and attempted to start it up.. All it did was crank and crak.. i noticed a few things..

The reading in megatune was pegged at 28 while it was just sitting there and while i was cranking, however, when i slowly pressed the gas pedal it went down to 17.something..

One more thing, my kpa reading was like 87 or someting really high, and when i pushed the pedal all the way down it went to 97 or whatever, but shouldnt it be reading like 20kpa or something?

do you have any spark? which directions did you follow....

to test for spark, take off plug #1, stick a wire in it and put the other end about an inch next to anywhere it can ground to. try to crank it and watch for spark...

Is there a year difference between the cars or are they exactly the same. There could be some differences between the harnesses if so.
Is it wired with a patch harness or did you tap the lines another way?

I just spiced the lines from the ecu to the MS connector

The miatae are the same years

your coil wiring could be backwards. I had to swap mine to get the car to fire.

The car was running fine before i squirted it but still just wanted to know if it was stock

Well those wiring directions are for a '90 model not a 94 or whatever you have so no they're not correct for your use.
Is that MS wired for the DIYautotune mods or Kags mods?
You can get the appropriate wiring harness color coding from http://www.madracki.com/miata/wiring.html if you haven't already.

Ok just tested for spark (pulled a wire boot off one of the plugs, stuck a wire in there, and put it near a ground while cranking)
No spark

Are you getting an RPM reading in MT while cranking? If not, start with that. With no RPM, MS will not trigger the coils.

Can you go back to letting the stock ECU control spark and MS control fuel? At least then you can verify the fuel side of the system.

turn the spark to stock ecu and try fuel, if this works it might be your baord mods that are weired. Chad his ecu is in the footwell that means 1.6 not 1.8 94. All of the years should be the same.

when you try it with the MS, do you get spark at all? does it try to crank but it just doesnt catch? does it combust? does it pop/backfire?
