Troubleshooting MSPNP2 and possible Idle Air Control Valve problem

We have been trying to troubleshoot for quite some time a 99 Miata with a FM2 turbo kit that generally runs well but has crazy RPM racing up to 4500 RPMs when it starts. It is tuned to e85. We have taken it to a shop in Chicago area and he is suspecting the Idle Air Control Valve does not work right or there is something faulty about the MegaSquirt. Does this make sense or has anyone else had this experience?

Yes. Check the cranking idle DC. Post your MSQ and a log of it happening

The tuner has solved the surging RPM startup. Dyno-tuned it for 93 octane. A new problem have surfaced in that the idle surges up and down between 1000 RPM and 1200 RPM. Believes there to be a vacuum leak or possibly a boost leak. Anyone had a similar experience with surging idle?

By the way, when I get the car back I will post the tune before and after problem solved so the community can benefit from it. Thanks for your suggestion Stealth97.

before you go hunting leaks, make sure the cells in the idle portion of your spark table are all the same- Differences here can make idle jump around.
