TunerStudio CAN exchange log?
I do not own a MEGAsquirt myself and I am mostly interested in TunerStudio but since it's usually used with MS hopefully it would be fine to ask here.
Would anyone who connects his MEGAsquirt with TS over CAN be available to sniff the CANbus exchange between these two? Even a log with "Debug Log Comm" might actually work for me. I am trying to implement CAN TunerStudio protocol in my own ECU, and unfortunately while EFI Analytics has nothing against they do not have much documentation to share. |
If no one else can. I'll have one setup relatively soon. Might even be able to hook up a bus pirate to it.

Afaik most people connect TS to MS using USB, RS232 or TTL-serial. I wasn't even aware you could use CAN...

from some default .ini files:
Code:
;This enables the "full" CAN/serial commands so this INI can be used anywhere on the CAN network except a direct serial connection. |
Just looked at the communication setup in TS- CAN is not mentioned anywhere....
Sniffing the data packets send by MS on the CAN bus during normal operation should be fairly easy. I have messed with that a year or two back and was able to read all the broadcast data. Also sending data to the MS during normal operation seems pretty straightforward. |

With my .ini file here is what I get when I create a project, I am not sure if you can adjust this once the project is already created: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1449072737 |
You can program can devices through the MS with TS

Of course sniffing the serial comm between TS and MS should be fairly easy, provided we're not using the on-board USB on MS3. But the earliest I would be able to help with that would be after Christmas.
