Tunerstudio reading constant 6.7 afr
 
problem: tunerstudio reading a constant 6.7 afr where the gauge is reading what it should read when operating.

Hardware:
- 95 Miata with sr20 turbo
- innovate mtx-l wideband
- mspnp2
- tunerstudio payed version

background:
car has been road tuned by myself mid July of this year drove the rest of the summer with it and has been sitting pretty much since September. I haven't touched any electrical systems since July when I tuned and it was working fine. It is wired per the instructions of the innovate mtxl using a relay and such.

Attempted:
recalibrating wideband
checked all the wiring and solder joints all of it is still intact.
Attempted to recalibrate the wideband table
searching for this similar issue found one result but the solution was a bit unclear

so if anyone has any other suggestions that'd be great thanks for any help.

Get an AEM wideband.

Ive had the same problem, lots of people have this problem. Mine did this and getting worse over time, sometimes it read 6.7 AFR and sometimes 22.4 and sometimes 14.7. And after that is shows an error,

Hmmm if that's the case that's honestly a bit disappointing I've had the gauge for less than a year and this is my second one already the old one went out too. I'm honestly a little disappointed for a product that costs so much.

It may be the sensor itself. They don't always last. They are about $60.

I had the same problem, changed the sensor, and few months later exact same problem.

A friend of my also bought a MTXL, i said to him to dont get the MTXL one because of the problems. But he still bought it. He is running it for a few months, not more than 3 months i think and already got the same problem

That's honestly a bit disappointing to hear. This is already my second innovate gauge I was persuaded by braineack I think it was to get another one when the first one broke. I was also fairly excited to get some of the dual function gauges later on down the road but now I'm just skeptical. Well I guess I'll move over to aem gauges when I can at least the gauge portion still works for the moment.

So side question for for all those responders what other wideband setups do you suggest I've heard about people using the AEM gauges haven't heard too many others but I'm always open to pieces to research.

I've installed around 2 dozen wide bands, about half AEM, half innovate. They all have their issues and can eventually go bad. I prefer the mtxl and upgraded my aem to an mtxl in my own car. I'd check the yellow output wire, make sure it's reading correctly with a voltmeter. Should be 5v when off (full lean), and closer to ~2V when you start the car. Or vise versa, I forget, look at the manual. That's step 1.

According to the user manual 0V is 7.5 or something about there afr and 5V is 22 afr now it's on and idling fine and dandy double checked source at ecu and it's running 0V traced back to gauge and checked direct off the wire still 0V so leads me to believe the gauge is busted sigh.

Now I'd be willing to believe the sensor went out if the gauge its self wasn't reading properly so this leads me to believe that the gauge its self is out.

Hook up to the mtxl using innovate'a serial cable (ms USB adapter works) and their software. Make sure it's set to output a linear 0-5v signal. If that doesn't work, see if you can set the other output to do the same.

I've tried four MTX-L due to flawed alternator control.
Innovate stuff lacks protection against high or low power. The die at above 16V and should never be on during cranking.

The last one have lived three years now. But each year only cover about ten hours :)

Check the voltage on the MTX-L's analog output and make sure it's not stuck at zero.
