Tunerstudio settings for fans and vics

I'm not really sure what to select in the output section. It has options to select 1 or 0, and then the temp/rpm. I have know idea what he 1 or 0 represents. hot, ground, open circuit, closed.

For you 90-93 guys how did you hook up your fans to ms? I ran my MS wire to the thermoswitch wire since it needs a ground to trigger. However, my fan turns on as soon as the ignition is turned on.

you can run the thermoswitch straight to the fan relay, that will turn the fan on and off at the stock switching point independently from the MS.

or you use a spare output. 1 = closed circuit/ground. connect the trigger wire from the relay to the spare output, configure, done. i'm using one of the IAC outputs to control my fan, works great.

Thanks, Now that I know 1 = ground, I will have a better shot at setting this up.

check out my diypnp build thread. In one of the posts I put my setup for radiator fan control using the PA0 output.

Set your power on value to 1 and your trigger value to 1. This will have the output off when you power up, and stay off until your target conditions are met, at which point the output will go to ground.

Good stuff I will try this.

Ben,

Just to double check. There are two different wled and aled positions on the diypnp board correct? I jumpered from the ones closest to the db15.

do I need to remove the pullup resistors on aled and wled that were required when using these outputs for ignition ( I had them wired for sequential spark)???

Yes

I'm using the boost controller output to control fans...but they still stay on indefinitely.

Your car knows how badass it is, and is just preparing for the heat it's about to generate. ;)

Ben, thanks. I will remove the pullups. As is, it appears to always be in a grounded state since no matter what the settings it always has the fans running.

PS. I have a running vehicle now! I'm hoping to get to DIY in June or July for dyno tuning. How's the dyno schedule looking? Will I get all aspects of MS tuned? Spark, fuel, EBC, idle, etc???
