Upgrading 2560R to EFR6258 keep same timing map?

My EFR6258 is arriving tomorrow, much excitement :naughty:

so my question is, should i drop the timing a few degrees or keep the same map and log for detonation?
My current map seems pretty aggressive, but ran great with my ex 2560r setup.
I know that different turbos flow more air per given PSI, so im thinking the EFR will flow more at say same 15psi, and the timing might be a bit much with the increased air flow.

im running stock 1994 pistons (8.8-9:1) or so compression i believe, with a stock VVT head.

here is my current timing map for 93 octane Florida gas. any input will be much appreciated.

I ran similar timing on EO2k's 6258 16-18psi made 330

not sure what clutch you have, but.. yesterday I turned up my 6258 to 22 psi and it smokes my FM2 clutch. roll on the power in 4th and it just gives up.

what CR pistons does EO2k have? Pump gas 93?

I plan to start at around 10psi and turn up the boost till I hit 300hp. Doing 2 modes. 300hp street and 250hp track mode.

hopefully my 5spd will hold together, if not I do have a 6spd I can swap in, I just don't like the gearing on the 6spd.

I have fm1 clutch. But don't plan to go over 300hp, so hopefully it will hold.

it held 265hp just fine, so we shall see. If it slips I'll lower the boost. Not looking for allofit power. Mostly fast response.

y'all keep saying hp.
clutches hold torque.

torque

torque smork. i have yet to see a miata make more tq than hp. so not sure why this debate continues. with a 6258 if you are making 300hp you are also probably 250-275 tq. 350 hp is usually 290-320 tq.

I guess what I am really saying is that an FM2 will be liquid with ALLOFIT 6258. Mine is anyway. stupid thing has 2k miles on it.

My fm1 held my 265hp 255tq just fine.

Christmas is here

I didn't get a plug pigtail for the ebc solenoid? Should it be included?

do I need to plug up the speed sensor holes?

torque is what the clutch holds. I've seen torque within 15/20 of power, and I've seen torque 100 less, all on a miata. so when you say "can't hold 300hp" that's a silly statement because I could easily make 300 and keep torque down and still have it hold, whereas if I make 300 torque it will slip regardless of power. I've seen more torque than power, too.

I get what your saying, even from my original post i knew this , but i was throwing out anomalies, shitty tunes and strange goals. if you take 5 miatae with 6258's tuned proper, theey are going to be very similar. Am i wrong?

just did some VD pulls, FM stage 1 clutch holds 300hp/250tq just fine :)
