Voltage on pin #24? (Tach input)

Hi guys,

can someone with a functioning MS1/MSnSe measure the voltage across pin #24 and a ground, and tell me if they get 5V? I am feeding my MS with the CAS signals (CKP on #24, CMP on #25, standard DSM-like mod from diyautotune) however I'm not getting any response in Megatune, the RPM gauge reads 0rpm all the time.

Now, my board builder says that it should be 5v, is this true?

Thanks,
Jim

I don't have any answers for you but what does the datalog look like?

I'm in the process of installing the MS in my '99 so I'll be trying this too.

With the CAS unplugged pin 24 should be high at 5v and 25 should be high at 12v.

fluke - you should be using the standard factory inputs for the Cam sensor and crank sensor. Revernt is doing this because he has VVT.

Ok thanks, looks like I will have to actually fit the CAS on the engine and start her up to see it is really working. I am currently turning the CAS by hand on my test bench to see if everything is working, prior to installing the MS in the car.

Hook the CAS upto a drill.

Good idea - I have a Dremel that has a variable speed trimmer, so if I can find a suitable way to attach it to the nose of the CAS, it should do the trick.

Btw, I have tested the CAS itself by connect it up to my oscilloscope, I get the expecte pulses (ie as expected by the slotted disc) just fine.

goto Home Depot and get some rubber 3/8" rubber hose and use it as a coupling.
