Wells TPS (201) doesn't work

So I got the Wells 201 TPS from Autozone, installed it on a customer's car with MSPNP9093 and its a no go. Using a DMM, the readings are all over the place. The red/black wires measure a constant 3.8KOhm (check), but red/green and green/black measure random, non-ascending/non-descending values when opening/closing the throttle (fail). On the MS side, with the TPS wired in and all the mods done properly, the MS will read 255 ADC with almost any throttle opening and backing off the throttle, the ADC will slowly descent (like, 1 step per 2 seconds) down to 1. If I measure the voltage with the DMM when it is descending, it will drop down to 1 instantly.

DOA TPS?

Sounds like the circuit connected to the TPS input is going into open circuit when you back off the throttle. Are you sure you didn't connect the switch part of the TPS to the input? Which year was the TPS for? Is the car a 90-93 (MT or AT)? Which wiring diagram did you use?

The TPS acts weird (random Ohm readings) even when it is not connected to the car. So the wiring and the car year are irrelevant.

maybe you got a bad sensor? Plenty of us out there with that sensor, including myself, that have no issues.

red should be 5v, black ground, and green the signal.

Sounds like you got a bad TPS.

Any clear cause to this yet
