What is your overrun set to
 

it is supposed to cut fuel etc on decel but since we dont have a TPS it would have a fair bit of trouble determining what is steady boost and what is decreasing boost etc. So should i set it to athmospheric pressure or should i set it to my max boost level any thoughts?

doesn't overrun cut in at your minimum MAP value?

yeah you want it at a minium value, it cuts fuel when you're coasting in gear.

If you're still tuning fuel Richy you should have over run, accel enrich, and EGO turned off till you have your map close to where you want it.

Did you end up messing with timing more?

set the kPa a bit below what you idle at (i usually idle at 32kPa)

also you can use the lowest row in your fuel table to do the same thing.

i figured as much ok i did lean out my lowest level but the damn thing is still way rich. No chad unfortunatley timming is still stock i will just wait for adam to fix his or maybe do it on a rainy day. at least the car is driveable now and does not leak fuel. :D thanks guys ill play with it some more.

That rpm setting is probably a bit to low. I used to run my car at that setting but I found that it would cause an idle dip as the idle control only had a few hundred rpm to re-organise itself when I was stopping at lights or in heavy traffic.

I'm now running an rpm setting of 2000 rpm for the over run fuel cut and that works much better as the idle control has enough margin to remove the idle dip.

true on too low rpm. 2000 or even higher isn't so bad. i use low gears for stop 'n go traffic and the overrun kicking in is a pain in the bucky herky jerky ass.

but I like that "after (sec)" setting! I wish I had that. I'd set it to like 3. keep that shit from engaging while I'm coasting under 20mph. actually that'd be good too.. a mph setting.

Probably the best way to get the kpa setting is to watch the MAP reading when your decelerating in gear... so on the highway in forth or something let it decel and see what your MAP drops to. That's the most vacuum you'll ever see... add 3 kpa to that and use that as your overrun kpa setting. That way when your lightly cruising you won't approach that limit as you'll only get close to it in decel, when you want it....

I messed with these settings a little bit, and though i have not spent much time driving with it enabled, I have no problems running 25-30kpa engagement. Why would I want it any lower as it saves fuel for me while I am decellerating? If I followed Jerry's advice, it would come out to around 15 - 20kpa. Seems to help engine braking when the fuel is cut.

Edit 08.06.07 ... since this time i realized jerry was right, 25 is as high as it can go without completely annoying me to death and 20 is just right.

Because without a TPS it's very easy for it to engage when you don't want it too-- like at very light throttle/almost no throttle cruise, when your vacuum will get at or near that idle range, or just below in rare cases. You'll feel the car cut out and wonder what the heck is going on.

If set it the way I described, then you've set it to activate when you're truly decelerating, and only then.

so i will aim for 20 inches on mercury thanks guys. I thought maybe it would jsut pull fuel when you let off the forward map motion. it makes sense now.
