Where do I install the knock sensor?
 

I have the Bosch sensor that came with the KnocksenseMS but i don't know where to put it on the '94 engine. Where does it go?

There are many different ways you can attach it. Do a search for more examples than I'm providing.
FM offers a knock sensor mount, its basically a special bolt that replaces one of the motormount bolts and then the knock sensor is attached to that bolt. Some people JB weld mounts to the motormount. Some use allthread on the motormount instead of a bolt. Some attach it to any old bolt on the engine block.
Search around, there is lots of info on it.

I searched for over an hour and there is tons of info on knocksense but I can't find anything about where people mount the sensor.

I might just go the JBWeld route, though I've been avoiding JBWeld so far.

What "any old bolt on the engine block" do people typically use? It must be something that is the right size, and I'm assuming I'll have to buy a longer bolt to go through the sensor anyway.

This replaces one of the cold-side engine mount bolts, and it is in turn threaded in the flat part of the head to accept another bolt (8x1.25) which in turn holds the knock sensor in place.

That looks like an alright deal, but how big of a job is it to install it? I can't even see the engine mount bolts from the top side so I hope it's easier from the bottom. I don't need to jack up the engine or anything, right?

As Joe says buy the converter bolt.

I pissed around drilling out and tapping bolts to make me own, but ended up just buying one anyways.

No, you don't need to jack up the engine. You're just removing one of three bolts holding the coldside engine mount (upper) to the block. I honestly can't remember exactly how I did mine, but it wasn't terribly difficult. It's one of those that you have to do by feel as you can't both see and reach it at the same time, but it wasn't a huge chore.

if you remove the intake manifold brace you should be able to get to it from the top I got mine installed but not wired up I could see and reach everything from the top

My car already has the Flyin Miata knock sensor (I upgraded from the LINK to a MSPNP)

i see there is an open port on the 26pin connector, but would i ground the sensor as well to sensor ground? Or chassis ground?

Use sensor ground for the knock sensor.

Being this thread came up in my search and looks like it had already been bumped not too long ago, I just wanted to get other's opinion on my knock sensor location. I mounted a Bosch knock sensor to an unused bolt hole just forward of the engine mount on the passenger side, it is just above the oil pan. Is this ok, or should I try going more toward the center of the block? (2001 motor) I'd go with the stock sensor location, but it just seems like too much of a pain in the ass to get to with the motor in the car.
