where do you guys mount the LC-1 controller?
inside the cabin or under the hood?
just looking for ideas:) |
Ty-wrapped to the ppf
|
mine is under the hood
|
Mine is tie-wrapped to the brace that runs from the trans to the diff. Post-controller wires run up through the shift boot.
|
In the cabin, alongside the radio. With a bit of effort it is possible to unplug the sensor connector after remove the glovebox for easy access.
LC1 cable goes underneath the shift boot, with the sensor installed near the end of the downpipe. |
Do any of you use the air con drain hole to bring the wires up through?
|
my wbo2 bung is about 10" before the cat, so I could route the connector throught the shiftboot and have about 5" of cable left so I could go either way.
also routed the knocksense wiring through there and have it exit on the pax side of the center console. where is the aircon drain hole actually? |
Maybe this is just on the RHD model but it is on the transmission tunnel right near where the ECU is.
|
That's where it is on the Euro LHD model too.

I see. I routed all the wires through the shifter boot.
pulled a 12v and ECU ground wire too for the LC-1, could i share these with the Knocksense unit or keep those separate? |
I did an install a couple of weeks ago that I really liked. I mounted the controller behind the radio surround panel, below the radio, and ran the O2 sensor wires through the shift boot. Keeps the controller hidden and out of the elements.

I contemplated that place for a minute too, but decided against it. Too much crap there, rear window heater and power mirror controls that I didn't want to relocate.
For now, the controller is in the engine bay near the brake booster, covered in some foam from the box it came in :giggle: of course my battery is empty so I couldn't get the bitch to calibrate properly:fawk: so that'll have to wait until I source a battery charger knocksense is in place too, I used one of the bolt holes where the AC pump would go, all wires run along the tranny up the shiftboot. the led for the knocksense is on top of the steering column, in front of the tach. wanted to check out the spark plugs, but couldn't find the right tool that would actually fit in the holes of the valve cover:vash: more to be done next tuesday :) |
Right under the plastic console, to the left of the shifter or directly below the E brake handle. Wire routed through shift boot.
I didnt want to dismantle my entire dash and I didnt want to risk doing all the effort and it not fitting because of my din adapter and cubby. |
