Who else is running a 1.8L w/ the msPNP

Just curious cause i just installed mine and was using the base map included w/ the msPNP for a 1.6L w/ afm. I changed the req fuel and left it at that for now. Will hopefully get a good bit of data logging tomorrow. Any suggestions would be nice so i can make it run better. 94 engine w/ jackson cold air intake on 89 octane.

That's cool. Install your IAT sensor so you can pull the AFM.

I am... though it might not be the exact same setup you're running ;)

Did you rewire the msPNP you got? I am pretty sure the fuel wires are diffrent on the the 94 the the 90-93. I am confused how you got the msPNP working on the 94. Also you probally want to use premium fuel, 89 octane might cause ping with their spark tables.

I'm getting close to get mine installed in my 95. I installed the IAT sensor bung last night. Now I just need to wire every thing up.

I'm pretty sure he has a 1.8 in a 90-93. That should still be esentially PNP.

emerilnut 06-12-2007 04:26 PM

the wiring harnesses are totally different in a 1.6 and a 1.8. the 1.6 PNP couldn't possibly be a PNP for a 1.8.. is that what we're talking about?

Ben 06-12-2007 04:34 PM

YES, but it's entirely possible to run a 1.8 motor off 1.6 electronics in a 90-93. IE transplant a 1.8 into an originally 1.6 car. If the stock ecu runs it, there's no reason why an aftermarket ecu wouldn't.

No, I wouldn't expect the 1.6 PNP to work in a 1.8 car.

I didnt think of the 1.8 swap. That would make sense to why the mspnp work. I wish the OP would respond.

emerilnut 06-13-2007 08:55 AM

Yeah, that's funny because that wouldn't be the first thing I think of. If someone says 1.8, then I think 94-97 :)

my bad. I'm

cheesecow1 06-13-2007 01:32 PM

i have a 94 motor running off of a 90-93 wiring harness, which is not uncommon? so the mspnp is still pnp sorry for the confusion I thought it was straightforward. Yes i also need to get my IAT hooked up too ben :)

when I get around to installing everything, I'm running a 99 motor. I plan on installing and tuning ms this week if my begi box gets here.
