WIdeband or not for MSPNP??
 

I've just gotten my MSPNP working in my '97 and am trying to figure out the best way to go from here.

I have an LC-1 that I have been using for the past few years but it is unreliable with staying calibrated. It needs to be recalibrated every few days or else it fluctuates between its extreme rich and extreme lean readings. Doing a free air calibration solves the problem, but its reliability worries me.

I was going to connect the LC-1 in place of my narrow band and use it for tuning the MSPNP, but now I am worried that when it goes out of calibration the car will run like shit or not run at all.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to connect the LC-1 to the MS for data logging but not be relying on it for the car to run??

Hook it up for logging only... that way if the signal is good you can tune off it. If it's bad you'll be open loop and the ECU will just ignore it.

I've got mine done that way because closed loop scares me. Of course, as a result I get a stellar 16 mpg.

You can has boost? Then you get new wideband sensor. Closed-loop good.
