which wire for the fans?

my installer gave me some homework untill he comes back again. he wants to run both fans to trigger from the coolant temp instead of one through the ac. but he wants me to find what wire that goes into the ecu does it. anyone know?

its a 1991 harness

No dice man. On your car, the ecu doesn't control the cooling fan. It is triggered by the thermo switch on the thermostat housing. That sensor switches to ground at about 200*F.

Yup, but you could configure you MS to trigger a relay to ground the wire on the tstat cover.

yep- using the ecu to control the on temp allows you to change it for the ambient, then leave the thermoswitch intact as a back up. Does the MS fan control go to ground? If so, then you can just tap into the thermoswitch lead since that IS the fan relay ground lead.

she goes both ways depending on which output you use.

i think he wants the ecu to control it. rar i wish i knew more about this stuff :gay:

Right- but a relay can switch by ground or voltage. The Link goes to ground for fan control. The MS will do either- lucky you! :D So start cutting, stripping and soldering already! ;)
