AEM water/meth injection failsafe / gauge
I just put this on the NC, but it is obviously universal.
AEM released it this fall. This is different then their old gauge. I just finished installing it and basically it will tell you not only if you have a blockage, but if there's a leak as well. Connects via USB, switchable gauge faces (before you chose the 500 or 1000cc versions), built in datalogger etc etc... If the upper limit is exceeded you have a leak--if the lower is then it is a blockage. Since the sensor is right by the nozzle it is a true indication of flow. http://www.newmiata.com/miscimg/AEM/aemscreen.jpg The reason its a failsafe and not just a gauge is the fact that it has two outputs that could be used to either trigger a solenoid to bypass the boost controller and reduce boost, or connect to a piggyback/EMS to switch maps. Basically you don't have to worry about your meth/water failing and grenading your motor, since it will automatically retard timing or kill boost before damage occurs if wired in that way. After playing with it for a while I was able to set it up so I had 150 cc of flow at low boost, 300 at high boost, and max at 400 in case I boost creep. Before I was spraying blindly basically 400 from 5 psi ON. So in that sense I gained a few HP from a more optimal flow progression. |

http://www.aemelectronics.com/water-...alog-face-1156 gauge is 167 with sensor and the kit is like 263 bucks i might pick up the gauge. http://www.aemelectronics.com/gauges...on-monitor-56/ from what i see it all uses standard 1/4 inch pushlock hardware.

I wouldn't personally get just the flow gauge but to each his own. Having the alarm and failsafe outputs is WELL worth the additional 80 bucks over the cost of the gauge alone. If you look up the prices of similar competing failsafe options you'll see you really get your money's worth out of it. Even if you don't use the outputs, the flashing alarm is phenomenal and will grab your attention. Don't forget it monitors not just for clogs, but for leaks. There's more of a chance of the fitting falling out then the hose clogging (provided you use the AEM filter before the pump)

In that case I would get the 0-500 version face unless you plan on over 400whp. The full monitor system comes with both. |

Just picked one up, with the AEM filter for $285 local. Online I could have gotten both for $275, but wanted a brick and mortar place since I was leaving to come back to Japan. when I find some time above freezing I will pull it out and figure out how to get it wired up.
