FYI MBC springs

I have been losing boost for a few miles now and finally pulled the MBC to see if that was the cause sure enough it was. As far as i can tell the spring was eaten away by the methanol, evidenced by the rust on my adjustment bolt and the fact that it damn near fell apart when i went to look at it. So if you run WI and a MBC esp as much WI as i do please remember to use stainless springs they should hold up better. Ill get a new spring tomorrow and update. Happy boosting.
Minor update WG boost is slow :(

New spring from ace hardware installed and working great but it was abit stif so i don't have as much low end adjustability but who needs low boost anyway :p 2bar is finnally being utilized :D :yippee:

nice, just curious, how is your WI set up, i'm new to the whole idea so i'm trying to figure out, do you have the nozzles before the turbo?

Kelly 09-09-2007 11:00 PM

You shouldn't have an MBC on the car anyways......FMIC HATER!!!!!! :gay:

You could solve the problem by simply taking your boost signal for the wastegate from the compressor outlet. I am assuming you have a bunch of shit all tee'd together.

magnamx-5 09-09-2007 11:05 PM

I dont have any ports on my turbo for boost. I don't see how the fact that i run my Boostgauge, map sensor, WI switches, and MBC on the same port originally has anything detremental to it. The BOV has it's own line as does the FPR so its all good. WI is post turbo as close to the TB as i can get. I have a very large thread somewhere where i did a right up on my system. https://www.miataturbo.net/showthrea...ighlight=Water here it is the devils own kit WOT sells can do everything mine does on a single stage, if you get a 1/8th npt tap to install it.

You should get a nice vacuum distribution block.

Kelly 09-09-2007 11:15 PM

Easiest to just pull the manny and put the ports where you want them. Right Chad?? ;)

Magna...take 20 min and tap that comp housing or you can even install a nipple in the comp. outlet coupler. ATP has a quicktap to do so.

Im curius why all he love guys?

Ben 09-09-2007 11:20 PM

you can tap the compressor housing and add a port.

I was talking to a Subie tuner who told me that I should tap my compressor closer to the outlet. he said that the location greddy used is one reason why I expierence so much boost overshoot, and that by moving the source close to the outlet I would get more consistent WG operation.

being that the guy tunes OneLap cars, I am inclined to believe him. but too lazy to test it out.

magnamx-5 09-09-2007 11:23 PM

So then me having the signall post TB is all the better i would think more consistancy etc right?

Kelly 09-09-2007 11:23 PM

Here is for the lazy..

I love tapping holes in shit. You all saw my intake manny project like 3 years ago.

cjernigan 09-09-2007 11:26 PM

I removed the upper portion of my intake and tapped it for my Tial because that puny nipple for cruise or w/e wasn't cutting it.
I also tapped my compressor housing. It works just fine.

I just got a low fluid level switch installed. And am now reveling in knowing when i run out of water instead of guesing.
