Meth with no ecu

i searched the almost every thread in the WI section with no luck. my question is is it possible to run meth injection without an aftermarket ecu like a megasquirt.

I don't see why not...

It would be harder to tune...but it's been done before.

Most systems, whether kits or DIY, rely on simple pressure switches for activation. Even the smartest MS guys here don't use MS to activate WI yet.

Your main issue would be how to lean your AFRs properly when WI kicks in. You would already be in boost, and already on the set ratio of your AFPR. I'm not versed well enough in those to know how you'd get it to lean back down.

Hopefully magnamx-5 comes along with some hints...but he probably switched to MS before WI too.

If you go to any of the meth injection sale websites you will notice that the basic kits all come with a pressure activation sensor. Reading the product description explains how this works and everything.

Yeah man you dont need any ecu whatsoever to run WI, i ran up to 16 psi on the stock ecu with WI and varius other tricks.

I run water meth with my stock ECU @ 14 to 15 psi of boost.

can someone PM me on how to run water/meth on the stock MSM ecu?

I do. But I'm probably not the smartest MS guy either.

In addition to mixture, one of the big benefits of WI is allowing more advanced timing for power. If your ECU can't handle that, then you really don't get a power benefit from WI. . . but you do get a peace of mind benefit because you really increase your detonation margin.

The simplest way would be to just spray water, in small amounts. That way you are only using the kit as safety padding. You could look into o2 sensor offsetting controlled by the pump activation relay, but at that point you might as well be running a tuning software.
