My G-Man Tank, Remote Filler, and Pump Mount.

Joe Perez's post in the long thread reminded me that I probably never posted pictures of this.

OK, so you can't see the pump, but its mounted to the bottom of the black painted aluminum plate that the tank is sitting on top of, it fits into the space where the jack used to go. The jack is wrapped in a rag and shoved into the cavity on the right side of the gas tank.

You can't really see the mounting plate, but it's just a big flat piece of aluminum. I put some rivenuts into the trunk floor so I would have a way to screw it down.

You can also see the snow performance (MAF based) progressive controller, although the rest of the kit is from DO.

The remote filler is from http://fluids.flambeau.com/component...er_spouts.html

I don't remember exactly but it wasn't very expensive, and they are perfectly happy to sell just one, you only have to call them up and order it.

It enabled me to push the tank all the way underneath the bodywork, so that I lost very little trunk space, the m.net crowd will love the fact that the tank serves to protect that vulnerable part of the rear fender from damage caused by objects inside the trunk.

When the tank is full the filler unit is also full, that adds a little capacity, the way i have the controller set up now I only have to fill it about every other week.

All it all I think it's a good way ti install a WI kit. Props to Joe for finding the tank in the first place.

thats slick, im gonna have to change mine like that.

I really like that.

dude that is sweet how many gallons is that. Great job on mounting etc very clean. I might just revise mine to be more like that.

Mechazawa 08-26-2007 08:16 PM

Glad you like it.

The tank is 5 qt, plus whatever is in the filler and the hose. In practice it takes a little less than 1.5 gallons to fill it.

I also used a large diameter plastic hose to connect the pump and the tank. The idea is that the relatively large fluid volume in the hose should help ensure a reliable fluid supply even when the tank is virtually empty.

Very nice job:bigtu:

Glad that worked out for you. I kinda dig the remote filler spout.

I guess we should post links to this tank, since it really is a perfect fit into that space on an NA. I bought mine from EngineRunup.com (another WI supplier) however a bit of Googling yields some much better prices.

Specifically, the tank in question is 5 quarts, made by "G Man". There is a 7qt version as well which is essentially the same shape, but larger. It looks to be the same height, so it might fit. 5 quarts seems to be a good size however. I seem to be filling the bottle about once per tank of fuel during normal city driving.

yeah, somebody needs an intercooler but is too dense to realize it....

magnamx-5 08-27-2007 05:00 PM

Nah i just want more than 5 minuts of cooling capacity at 15psi. 470-270 cc/min ftw. :D ;) still on stock timming though

Joe Perez 08-27-2007 05:02 PM

How about we just lay a tarp down inside your trunk and fill the whole thing with water. :bigtu:

Ben 08-27-2007 05:27 PM

Just rhinoline it.

Joe Perez 08-27-2007 07:01 PM

Actually, a quick google search turned up one possible candidate. Magna, this tank might be sufficient for your needs: http://tinyurl.com/34v2th

Has anyone put an accumlator in yet? Seeing the nice clean tank setup brought that into my head.

magnamx-5 08-28-2007 04:22 PM

Joe that one is perfect thanks :bigtu:

And now I know that I have a reason to wait :)

Joe Perez 08-29-2007 12:30 AM

New nozzles?

cjernigan 08-29-2007 12:36 AM

Are these the new nozzles that thread in from the top and create different sized water droplets increasing the rang of effect the water has on "cooling" the charge cause that would be kickass stuff.
