No pulsing.....normal?
Well, reading back on some installs, I'm seeing some guys asking about a pulsing pressure and then adjusting top allen screw to adjust the pressure. I tested my system before I put it in and I didn't see and pulsing but I'm unsure what pressure I'm at. Should I adjust this set screw?

how do you define no pulsing does the spray stay constant or is it just sligth in variation? Have you put a nozzle on the end to see if the restriction produces any more noticable pulsation? Pressure can be seen via a Oil pressure gauge or similiar put on the line. But be carefull as a pressure spike to high will damage the gauge and skew your readings GL man.

I tested with the nozzle, and I ran the system for a couple of seconds....no visible pulsing. I'll hook up a guage and check out the pressure.

Its fine.

DO told me it was supposed to pulse. Which is normal - pulsing or not???

You don't want it to pulse.
I have the XS Knocklite fitted to my car, when the pump pulses my car gets mild knock between pulses. |
that is becouse you run a HSV to keep everything continues and a pulse means a supply shortage folowed be resurgance on a normal non HSV setup pulse it simply the pressure overshoot of the pump and it's ramp down to compensate since it does not have the finite controll to hold constant pressure in most apps.

The HSV didn't really seem to make any real difference, if anything it actually slightly improved the pulsing. Even if the HSV is 100% open the pump should supply more than enough water to maintain a constant pressure. I tried increasing the pump PSI, but was unhappy with the results, so i purchased a Aquamist Single Channel Manifold, and fitted it just before the HVS. I then increased the pump pressure to cut out slightly higher than the AM Manifold, that way i get a consistent water supply and a doulbe over pressure protection. Cheers Mark |
