What water to use/ Spraypattern

Hi,

What kind of water should I use for Waterinjection?
Can I use "normal" water or has it to be destilled water?

I'm building a coldside supercharger setup, so I'll have to inject after the bLower, where would be the best place to
fit the nozzle in the manifold to get an even distribution?

Well first of all (hertzlichen Wilkomen) and thank you for choosing WI. Ok for the first question, you should use distilled water becouse regular tap water has alot of impurities to it and this can clog your nozzle rather quickly, causing poor spray pattern and flow. On your coldside unless you wish to bore out seperate ports and do a multiport injection similiar to what the fuel system does, you will have to run nozzle before your compressor try to keep it an inch or two off of the throttle blade, to avoid any pressure fluctuations. A sin gle nozzle setup like the one i use is quite effective, and when sized properly will be upgradable as your modifications are pushed further to there limits. If you have any more Questions, just ask us. Shipping will likely be expensive the last time i shipped a packeage of the equivalent weight via air mail to Germany it cost me 50 dollars US or 45 Euros where in Germany are you? :) no, actually I haven't made an intake yet...this is a former BRP intake

but I have no idea where to put the water injection to get an even distribution to all cylinders...

from reading here, I always thought that I'd have to mount the nozzle after the charger? the Air before the charger should be nearly at ambient temps, it will be going through a JR CAI and then to the blower...

As I said before with a cold side supercharger you have no choice unless you want to spend the big money and headache and go multi point injection. I know you dont have many of these in Germany but think of your proposed setup as a blower car V8 like in Raod Warrior or top fuel dragsters the Supercharger is effectively the intake and the only real common point is before the compressor, IE the throttle body, or for this example it would be a carburator. The water is said to help seal your rotors and cool the SC unit itself. Remember we spray at 70+ psig or 4.7 bar this ensures a good atomization so the water should saty suspended until it hits a heat source in wich case the mist created by the sheering out of the nozzle will be converted to steam absorbing your heat and ensuring suspension in the air stream until after the combustion starts. Post blower spraying would allow less time for heat absorbtion and might be as or less effective depending on the level of tunning you wish to do. If you had a hotside Supercharger on the exhaust side instead of the intake side with a crossover pipe then spraying into the hot air at the TB would lead to the best results. Veile gluck comple.

I started using DW, but since I have a whole house water softener system with a RO for drinking water, I'll be using RO when I run out the WW fluid.
