Yeah, but you could do that with the WI alone

How do you get lower than ambient temps using water that isn't chilled below ambient?

Becouse the water and methanol absord the heat energy water is the storage device and the methanol provides abit more cooling and octane boost. Methanol might not have the calorie capacity but it is a very thermically unstable fluid, that tends to transition to gas rather rapidly this uses abit of energy in it self and the water holds the rest, and gives you a denser air charge and more exhaust energy becouse of the increased flow density, out the combustion chamber

Fill that nitrous bottle 6 times and you could have bought a WI kit. If I was already using WI I would be spraying the nitrous into the engine where it really matters.

question is.... because I'm already running the Hydra ECU.... would I be better off going with something like HYDRAMIST, or would something like devils own be a better investment.....

The Hydramist is already set up to be run by the ecu.....

is water injection supposed to be a band aid to a good tune? because it always seems wrong (to me) to be doing stuff like that

No. It allows you to make more power safely on pump gas or add headroom to your current tune. I'd call it optimization more than anything.

No more than an intercooler would be a band aid
