Hello,
Are you willing to sell parts form your turbo kit? I'm interested in your manifold and downpipe. I might be interested in the turbo to. Let me know how much if your willing to break the set up.
Thanks,
Tim

thatguy 08-16-2006 09:33 AM

Any pics of the downpipe and voodoo box? Does it come with hardware to mount the ic? Are the small hoses in good condition?

thatguy 08-21-2006 09:30 AM

small hoses in good condition. I dont have pics yet of the d/p and voodoo box. no hardware for i/c but its not hard to mount.

hustler 08-21-2006 02:09 PM

exactly =o) the Flyin Miata voodoo box supplies enough fuel for your boost needs, great up to 8psi with stock injectors. and no tuning needed with it.

quoted from flyinmiata's site

The Voodoo Box - a Flyin' Miata exclusive - is an easy way to provide extra fuel for forced induction without any effort. How it works is simple. The on-board MAP sensor measures the pressure in the intake manifold. If more fuel is needed, the Voodoo Box intercepts the signals going from the stock ECU to the injectors and lengthens it.

It also intercepts the signal from the oxygen sensor so that your stock ECU will not compensate from the extra fuel being delivered. Otherwise, you could be running lean under boost at part throttle. Not only does this cause hesitation and odd behaviour, but it's not safe for your engine! This feature is not included on other similar devices.

Installation is simple with a total of 6 wires involved. Various LEDs will help you identify any errors if there's a problem. No extra fuel pumps are needed. Preprogrammed for turbocharged or supercharged use. If you are building a custom setup, there is some adjustibility included. The onset of extra fuel, slope of extra fuel and maximum injector pulse width can all be adjusted as well as the onset of the O2 modification - see the instructions here. The Voodoo Box will not affect OBD-II readings. Air/fuel meters that use the stock O2 sensor will show a lean condition when the O2 clamp kicks in. Toy Miata not included

Looks like a nice little kit to start a project with.

YellowNB 08-21-2006 03:58 PM

What about timing? The VooDoo box mentions nothing about controling timing.

as long as you have good airflow with appropriate fuel, you wont get any knock at around 6-8psi. just run 93 octane. the intercooler will supply plenty of air for your needs.

but if you want you can always get the handy timing wheel from flyin miata, which allows up to 6 degrees of retardation.... flyin miata used it on there old kits for timing.

thatguy 08-23-2006 05:20 PM

Ohio - and I will pay for half of shipping.

my zip is 44256

thatguy 08-24-2006 06:26 PM

bump!

thatguy 08-25-2006 07:38 PM

buy me!!!!

scolazz 08-26-2006 11:16 PM

To be upfront, I have about a .5% chance of actually buying this (just had a baby)

will this fit on a 2000 1.8? Anything else needed? I see it has fueling (voodoo), etc.

What boost does it run? Is the wastegate adjustable? What kind of power were you getting with this kit?

Thanks!

thatguy 08-27-2006 02:36 PM

i actually never got to put it on.. it was for my 99, so yes it will fit. pretty much just need a oil return line, and to drill and tap your oil pan, and a boost gauge... the wastegauge is adjustable of course.

with the voodoo you wont be able to go over 8psi. an accurate guess of power would be about 200whp.

1400 shipped!

timhill78 08-28-2006 04:56 PM

hi, do you know if it's going to be a problem to hook up the down pipe to a 1.8l 1996? I'm not sure how the exhausts match up. Thanks, Tim

Tim, this manifold was actually made for a 97 1.8 so it will line up perfect, I was going to have it fabricated for my 99, but never got to put it on. and now I am getting rid of the car. (accident in FL, cost me lotsa money)

gdnimr0d 09-22-2006 09:12 PM

no no i dont want to give any negative ideas to this forum member and when i spoke to him he seemed to be a pretty cool guy so just wait for him to reply back on the forum

timhill78 09-25-2006 03:10 PM

Any word yet?

gdnimr0d 09-25-2006 03:45 PM

nope but i am going on paypal today and i am going to have my money returned to me until i hear back from the seller it has been over a month and i have heard no word nor have i recieved my item. I was pleased at first but now its time to take action before i loose the chance to reclaim my money sent to him.
I would advise caution with everyone else that has sent him money for parts.

gdnimr0d 09-25-2006 07:46 PM

okay after i sent him a paypal warning he emailed me and said this "i asked my room mate to send it and he never did so i am off tomorrow to ship it at 8 a.m." Hopefully this will clear up mine and the other forum members purchases and allow them to recieve their items as ordered.
I will update when i recieve the parts
Thanks
