1860cc built motor F/S
Thats a bad motor! I wish it was available before I built mine.
I drove that car to 1st for the Atlanta SE Divisional in DP... over Randy's second place by .004. :D The next year he beat me... That engine is sweet for sure and anybody whose been down the NA build up route, knows it's pricey.
why is randy selling his motor? last i spoke with him he was babbling about some sort of super lame 1.5L fuel sipping motor, but I assumed it would not be for his race car.
Maybe he's going to go with a 12000rpm de-stroked motor :)
I'm speculating V8 swap... he's got several yamaha v8s, and a volvo v8. And his race car no longer looks like a race car. He's putting an Italia front and pit crew rear on it. Said there's no time for racing these days so he's softening it up for regular street duty.

Well he's doing some mod work to the Italia front... whatever that means. ;)
The only thing more expensive than building power in a four banger on the street is having to do it per a set of sanctioning body rules. :eek5: I had a BP that made 155rwp/140ftlbs of torque with a stock bottom end, no porting/polishing or any kind of massaging to the OE cast pieces. It was done with the stock 99 pistons, deck on the block/head to get near 10.5:1 static compression, ecu and bunch of expensive spec valve train parts. We had high dollar JE pistons and after one race when a Miata stomped the factory civics they outlawed them. |
wow, I'd be PISSED!
(more?) ot, I remember reading past posts that Randy wanted to build a ferarri look-alike engine, a ITB'd Yamaha SHO engine might be it. |
