18x12x3 intercooler and silicone couplers
Im thing of gettting a larger intercooler, if I can sell this one.
It is a chrome 18x12x3 intercooler with 3 inch diameter inlet and outlet, and (2) 3 inch to 2 inch couplers (black). The intercooler on ebay is $75 shipped. Mine is not used much, less than 5k miles. Still clean. Im thinking $95 shipped, seeing as the cheapest couplers I can find are $20, so It would cost $120 ish new. I will only sell if I can get reid of the intercooler and couplers, seperate would be $65 for the intercooler and $35 for the couplers. The intercooler works great, seeing like low 80 degree intake temps when its around 70 degrees outside, and thats being run fairly hard. |
fwiw, i just sold the same exact thing with couplers to paul for $50

Cardriver, I am pretty sure that you can get more than $50 for the intercooler and couplers. But probably not on mt.net anymore. |
The size you suggest is a 450 hp intercooler. It will be heavier and block more rad air than necessary. What specific benefit do you expect from this thing?
I do understand costs, but I'm not sure I understand using twice the IC needed. |

Ouch. Talk about a thread crap.

I did the same "upgrade" to a 18x12x3 core, difference is 7*F delta compared to +20*F. No adverse effects on the cooling system so far. I am missing a few hundred RPM of spool which I assume is due from the extra pressure drop, but it's nice to see a flat intake temp in my logs at full boost. |
