2 Momo Start seats

Got 2 Momo Start Seats. They are new. Well almost. I drove with one only a day to find out that after 15min of driving they cause me pain in the back: I'm too short for the seat. (BTW I'm 5'3"). I bought them on ebay. And they were packaged in their original box with 2 metal straps around it so I believe that they were new but they are dated from 2002. THey are the ones that are screwed on the bottom. I had a hard time to fit them to the stock rails but I think it would be simplest to make an adaptor for them. They need a little cleaning that's all. The little things on them in the pictures are juste tree buds.

I'm asking 550$ CAN. So with the Canadian $ that falls like a rock in a well, it's good for you. Plus shipping too. But if you are near the canadian eastern border (NY, MASS, MAINE and the like) I can do the trip to bring them to you if you are willing to pay the gas for a Mazda Protegé ;). I don't know how it would cost for shipping it and I don't have a box to pack them now.

TrickerZ 10-28-2008 04:29 PM

I'm 5'6", do you think I'd have any better luck? I'd need them shipped too...

paul 10-28-2008 04:35 PM

I'm 5'7" and used to run these seats and never had a problem with them. Shoulda neved sold them. Been looking to buy another set ever since

Dark Wanderer 10-28-2008 05:00 PM

Yeah you should fit right in. Paul you don't want them?

paul 10-28-2008 05:05 PM

i do want them but i don't have the extra ~$425 USD plus shipping

Dark Wanderer 10-28-2008 05:14 PM

Bad... I think I'll have some trouble to sell them :(

paul 10-28-2008 05:23 PM

I don't think so. The shipping is what kills if for me.

Dark Wanderer 10-28-2008 06:09 PM

Yeah that's what i was referring...

240_to_miata 10-28-2008 06:10 PM

i would love them... and im in CT so i could probably meet you at the border, but im trying to invest in a turbo b4 seats :(

gl on your sale. ebay is your friend!

Dark Wanderer 10-28-2008 06:37 PM

Yeah Ebay is probably my friend but first I'll have to find a box big and strong enough for them. And because of the size it will take, I'm affraid taht the shipping will be pretty expensive... But I can wait, they will past the winter in my bedroom

Savington 10-28-2008 07:39 PM

Seats are the single best mod you can make to the ergonomics of a car.

+1. I'm on my third miata, first was boosted (then totaled) second had it's fiar share of mods, this one is the only one to get a set of seats and even though they're not the nicest seats in the world (procar extremes) they're right there with if not my favorite mod yet on any car.

You have offered these for sale yet cannot tell anyone what you want for shipping. The seats are not not that heavy and shipping should not be very expensive. Hell, I sold and shipped a complete SC kit including intercooler for less that $100 shipping. I also sold a set of shocks/springs this summer (ask 18 PSI how well I packed these). It was a little work packing it up, but really not that big of a deal. Find some boxes, get a shit load of packing material and a little tape. If you want to sell them, let us know what shipping will cost.

Faded92mx5 10-28-2008 10:32 PM

You can take the seats into any shipping store and they will hook you up with box/packing materials/tape and then you'll know its packed correctly. That stuff should be $15-20, and shipping $50-60 per seat.

I'll do this tomorrow

disturbedfan121 10-28-2008 11:35 PM

paul if you really wanted them it would be cheaper to borrow my jetta and drive up there. should be able to make it up on a tank of gas NP. made it to syracuse in the miata with the LINK and it took a tank, and that was only 25mpg.

BradC 10-29-2008 08:04 AM

Let me know please once you get a shipping cost nailed down.

Thank you

Dark Wanderer 10-29-2008 12:04 PM

Anyone who wants a quote, PM your full address ASAP because if I don't have that, I can't have any quote.

Dark Wanderer 10-29-2008 08:02 PM

SO!

I have 2 quotes. There was too many people when I came at the purolator office and the guy said to me that it should not vary that much for other states.

Someone asked me to Minnesota ---> 200$
Tallahassee Florida ---> 225$

Like I said this is not a question of weight but of box dimensions. 39"X28"X22"

Anyone still interested?

Scuba_Steve 10-29-2008 09:57 PM

Not me, I can't believe shipping cannot be had for less.

Dark Wanderer 10-29-2008 10:35 PM

I could check with UPS but, you know the drill -> UPS has broker fee that is worst than having buttsex with a horse.

I tried with Canadapost and they don't deal with big packages like this one.

TonyV 10-29-2008 11:47 PM

Remember it's international shipping...even though not overseas you still get raped...
It was costing me like $150 to get a Torsen swap up there and thats a smaller size
Apparently weight is less of a factor than size when shipping

BradC 10-30-2008 08:48 AM

Would you be willing to ship them against my UPS account number?

Dark Wanderer 10-30-2008 11:40 AM

What do you mean?

You drop them off at ups, give them his account number, they get the seats to him and charge him directly for shipping.

Dark Wanderer 10-30-2008 12:07 PM

That sounds right to me. If you confirm this, I'll check to find something to get the seats packaged strongly.

Not to screw up the sale on this board but...

There's gotta be some local kid with a Civic that would love these if shipping doesn't work out with anyone here! Hit the Honda or tuner boards in your area if nothing happens here.

I did it with the two biggest tuner forum in my province but here everyone is lowballing or no money assholes. I got about 20 offers, varying from exchange for whatever-shittycar-stock-seats to 200$ for the two.

matttheniceguy 10-30-2008 02:28 PM

I'm interested in them, and I'm in Canada :)

How much would shipping to Vancouver be? V6S 1M1

Dark Wanderer 10-31-2008 09:00 AM

Will check monday I work during the week end

TrickerZ 11-01-2008 03:47 PM

How far are you from the border? You may be able to run across the border and then ship them if it's not too bad of a drive. I'm sure someone would pay for the gas you use if the shipping is a lot cheaper. For an extra $225 to ship, that's not much of a savings for me.
